"How the hell am I going to make these suits?"
A well known quote from spacial effects and character design genius Stuart Freeborn while working on the most iconic sci-fi movie production: "2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY".
This project is inspired by this epic work and make use in the most advanced spacial effects material available today, including 4 types of silicone rubber, carbon fiber & 3D printing.
The study of the organic and the mechanic is a new filed in science.
Whether we want it or not we are becoming integrated with the machines. The moral and ethical questions regarding technology getting inside our body and mind are being asked, but technological progress if fast and usually ahead of us. Ancient civilizations are a non-coaster well of inspiration.
A journey to the jungles of Guatemala opened my eyes to the art and architecture of the Maya.
With contemporary techniques and materials, a Mayan figure dressed as a Demon came to life.
