Imagine you are on a team of astronauts sent on a mission to Mars for the first time in human history.

What would you imagine such a mission could be like when thinking about the immense psychological pressure on the crew members?

New technologies such as Augmented Reality could hold a key for the success of those kind of missions.

Redesigning of the human daily experience in isolated environments with innovative technologies could help bring humans to Mars and make humanity a multi-planetary species.

Space Photography

A well know astronauts activity  in the ISS.

The view from earth is described as spiritual and Uplifting.

The visual connection to Earth is a vital aspect of the mental health and psychological maintenance of astronauts in long space missions.

Astronaut Scott Kelly filming the Earth during his year-long mission in the ISS.

A Mars mission would put a crew of astronauts on a 2 year mission.

Isolation would be a tremendous psychological challenge that brings new opportunities for designers to rethink of the living and working environments and experiences in long term space missions.
